The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme are looking for graduates to fill various Trainee Science Teacher roles across North London. This school-based programme will see you working in a classroom from day one – teaching alongside qualified educators to help deliver top-quality education for secondary school Science students. Instead of returning to university, you can begin your career in an envionrment that will give you valuable insight into life as a teacher and experience that you can carry through to your future career.
You will begin your training in the school, building up your confidence and capabilities until you are teaching your own classes by the final term. You will complement this practical learning with the theoretical through off-site training days when you can gain the knwoledge to put into practice in the classroom. With the guidance of teachers, in-school mentors and a personal tutor, you will have a vast support network who are on-hand to assist in your learning experience.
To become a Trainee Science Teacher, you will need:
- A 2:2 degree or higher in a Science-focused subject – we are particularly looking for Chemistry graduates.
- GCSEs grade C or above in Maths, English and Science (or their equivalent).
- A passion for your subject and the desire to impart this knowledge on future generations.
- To have been living in the UK or an EU country for the past three years consecutively.
