What is the Teaching Apprenticeship Programme?
The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme is a Paid Teacher Training course that allows graduates to qualify as a teacher whilst in a full-time, paid job in a school. There are many options available for those looking for Paid Teacher Training, but not too many where all of the hard work in terms of looking for and applying for schools is done for you.
With a host of schools eager to interview science, maths & engineering graduates for either a July or September start alongside start dates throughout next academic year, our teacher training advisors will be able to explain the finer details and structure of the course as well as discussing suitable schools with you, arranging interviews and supporting you through the application process.
Where are the schools?
All across the Midlands and South of England. Although a group of secondary schools in Sutton have expressed particular interest in taking on trainee science & maths teachers so we’re particularly keen to hear from people in the South London and Surrey areas. These schools are exemplary environments to learn from a mixture of experienced and newly qualified teachers.
Am I eligible?
If you have a degree in science, maths or other related subjects like engineering as well as Cs or above in GCSE Maths & English – you’ll be eligible for Paid Teacher Training! Unfortunately due to government legislation, the Teaching Apprenticeship Programme is only able to help people who have been living in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years consecutively.
