Mathematics Trainee Teacher
An Ofsted graded ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ attributes in North London is looking for a Mathematics Trainee Teacher to join their successful team and secure Qualified Teacher Status with their support. This is a long-term-to-permanent appointment to commence in October 2020 or in January 2021. The Ofsted report acknowledges the multicultural community within the school, stating that “Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is fully integrated into all aspects of school life. Over time, disadvantaged pupils make strong progress across the curriculum.” High expectations are set by the school and the governors articulate an ambitious future, one in which even a Mathematics Trainee Teacher will help fulfil across key stages.
The successful Mathematics Trainee Teacher will be based in a hard-working department which welcomes support throughout the school; leaders take decisive action to provide teachers with carefully planned coaching programmes. As a trainee working towards QTS, you will have your own timetabled classes in which you yourself will take on the responsibility of teaching and supporting your own cohort of learners. This will include teaching Mathematics across various key stages and years, with variations in ability.
In order to apply for this role, you will need to meet a few minimum requirements, without exception, including:
-Bachelor of Honours in Mathematics (2.2 or above)
-GCSE C or above in English and Maths; preferably an A-Level in Mathematics also
-A passion for Maths and confident abilities in presenting/teaching/tuition
-Right-to-work in the UK full-time
-Experience working or volunteering with students in some capacity is not required but is preferred
