Languages Graduate Teacher Training

Languages Graduate Teacher Training

Our schools are full of students eager to explore the world and get a taste of other cultures. Why not be the one to introduce the next generation to a new language and culture? Teaching languages requires creativity to find ways to bring a language and culture to life and to engage and inspire students. Creating your own interactive class materials and developing innovative teaching methods will allow you to constantly challenge yourself and your class whether that be in German, Spanish, French or other Modern Foreign Languages.

Modern Foreign Languages are playing a big role in young people’s lives today. With our Languages Graduate Teacher Training you can translate your Languages undergraduate degree into Qualified Teacher Status! Submit your application and you could potentially become a fully qualified teacher by October 2020! We have flexible start dates with the chance to begin your Languages Graduate Teacher Training this side of Christmas.

The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme will prepare you for a successful and enduring career as an MFL teacher. Teaching Apprenticeship Programme will help you discover how to open young people’s eyes and ears to the beauty of the language by exploring its uses in business, everyday life and culture. You’ll get to break down barriers and find ways to help both struggling and high-achieving students get the most from the language, nurturing their speaking and writing skills. Some of your pupils could progress from being complete beginners to using their language skills in their further education, travels or career.

As a trainee you will earn a salary starting at £20,441 whilst you work towards your QTS. Additionally, you won’t need to consider tuition fees with your placement school covering the cost of the programme. Once you qualify (after 12 months on the programme) you’ll be eligible to move onto the qualified teacher’s pay scale with a significant pay rise. As your career progresses, so will your salary – teachers in leadership roles can earn on average £58,100, with many earning significantly more.
