The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme (TAP) makes it easy for schools to use their apprenticeship levy to recruit, train and retain the best graduates as home-grown teachers.

1) ATTRACT THE BEST GRADUATES & GROW YOUR OWN TALENT

Teaching Apprenticeships can help you recruit and retain the best graduates as home-grown teachers for the future, as well as offering a path to QTS for existing unqualified members of staff.

2) TUITION FEES ARE COVERED BY YOUR APPRENTICESHIP LEVY

Graduates will train on the job to gain QTS at no cost to them – the cost of the ITT is covered by your school’s Apprenticeship Levy.

3) EXTREMELY COST EFFECTIVE DUE TO SALARY GRANTS AND LEVY FUNDING

Trainees are able to teach up to 80% of the timetable, and salary grants for schools that have trainees in shortages subjects mean that you can save money when you enrol an unqualified member of staff on the programme!

4) HIGH QUALITY TRAINING TAILORED TO THE INDIVIDUAL

We are the largest provider of teaching apprenticeships in the country and have been delivering SCITT programmes for over 20 years. We always endeavour to deliver high quality, individualised training programmes that work for our trainees and our schools.

5) FUTURE-PROOF 

At the end of the programme, your school benefits from a fully qualified home-grown teacher – with retention rates of 82%, the majority of trainees on the Teaching Apprenticeship Programme continue working at the school they trained within.

** In 2021 schools are being incentivized to take on a new apprentice with a £3,000 payment!
